Translated from Croatian by Vesna Maric Sršen's short novel Fairytale from a Coffee Machine deals with existential doubts and dilemmas of the generation growing up during the brake-up of Yugoslavia and the wars in the nineties. The reader follows the main protagonist’s search for his own place within a society through a prism of dark humor and irony. Still, the acquaintances he acquires, the relationships he enters and the friendships he makes on his journey offer a different view to his quest.
